"... The search for" beautiful form "goes hand in hand with the revival of lyrical and mystical worldview and artistic psychedelia, appeals to the "expansion of consciousness".  Splash intellectualism and visual aesthetics as seen in our art of the last decade, surprisingly intertwined with the desire to turn to the archaic beginning, to the barbaric lapidary, learn and re / experience in own way invigorating intonation of children's drawings.

Painting and graphic creativity of Nataliya Shalina, in our opinion, is a convincing proof of the above considerations. Having embarked on the path of figurative image, the artist equally rejects the formula epater les bourgeois and spontaneity impressionistic sense, academic imitation of nature and salon souvenir, erotic obsession and quasi-Christian sermon.

Searchings of Nataliya Shalina aimed at creating of original pictorial and plastic language, emotional and psychological content which is expressed perfectly by the traditional formula: "Love-Death-Loneliness." But at the same time her art should be seen as an attempt to speak about the main thing, without resorting to banal speech peculiar to profane thinking. "
