MOVEMENT IN THE ART, MOVEMENT IN THE PAINTINGS
The tradition of trying to portray the movement in static visual art is the very ancient and Petersburg artist Viktor Borisov contributes to it. The characters which he portrays are often in a violent movement: dance, running, playing musical instruments... But these are not instant photos, not a stopped moment, but namely the impression of a continuing movement. He does not separate the line, the spot from the real image, but gives them an independent movement and animate rhythm. As a result, the picture is filled with movement, reinforcing the plot idea. And if you select music for his paintings, then it will be his favorite jazz. Many of his paintings are devoted to Jazz, but even in his other works jazz rhythms in linear strokes, in strokes of color spots, in contrast of figures and background, are caught. And even its compositional constructions assume the perception of the work as a single chord, at once as a whole. It is characteristic that even in this subject he does not leave the range of figurative art, he does not go into lyrical abstraction, although the memories of it somewhat cool his scenes, despite the expressiveness of the expression.
Previous exhibitions have developed other themes, when adequate stylistic techniques have been applied, so it seems that the artist's work in his jubilee year can be regarded as a continuous search for new themes, new impressions and new ways of expressing them - a continuous movement in creativity.
