For me, as an artist and simply as a person, color is very important. I believe that in the future, people will learn to transform color into emotions and sources of vital energy. Scientists and psychologists assign specific colors to human emotions: red is anger, green is joy, yellow is excitement, gray is sadness, and so on... I was born and live in St. Petersburg, where there are many cloudy days and frequent rain. For me, shades of gray represent the beauty of my city, the sound of rain and the silhouettes of architectural buildings, the twilight of white nights and the silhouettes of ships sailing under the arches of a raised bridge... I adore color; I rejoice in the blue sky and the yellow of flower dust on the asphalt, the fire of burning leaves framing the white marble in the Summer Garden, the brick vaults of St. Petersburg's factories, the black silhouette of cast-iron grates...
